Born in Chicago, Mitchell emerged in the early 1950s as a leading figure in the New York School of Abstract Expressionism. From 1955 she lived and worked between the United States of America and France, settling permanently in VĂ©theuil, near Paris, in 1968.
This publication explores Mitchell’s dedication to abstraction and how she translated her approach to painting through printmaking techniques.
